Minutes of the September 9, 2023 AGM Meeting of the Brentwood Bay Probus Club
Outgoing President David Cooper, welcomed all present and called on club
member Bob Erickson to make his presentation about his career in the “Life in
the Oil World”. But first the presence of Bob’s guest, Kim Milburn, was
recognised as well as Jim Winchell’s guest Bill Maund. Bob’s entertaining talk
revealed a sequence of eventful and challenging jobs that took him from
Canada’s north to international assignments, including Indonesia, Egypt, Huston,
Tunisia, London, Norway and Azerbaijan. During his time, he even crossed paths
with notables like the King of Norway and Henry Kissinger. Of all his assignments
Bob enjoyed Norway the most. Club members warmly received Bob’s account of
his highly successful career. David thanked Bob and presented him with a gift.
Prior to coffee break and the AGM, six members indicated their interest in lunch
at the Prairie Inn.

The unopposed election placed John McGowan as incoming President and John
Moore as VP. There were no nominations from the floor.
